How to get the [Shapefile Editor] plug-in

description

Hi,

I am a brand new user of Map Window v. 5 (MS Windows 64 bit), and first let me congratulate your team on creating such a user-friendly interface. I was a professional user of Arc GIS in my last job, and so your format is very easy and familiar to me compared with some other open source GIS aps that I have tried to use (with a deal of frustration and confusion involved, I can tell you).

Ok on to my issue. I am trying to create a blank shape file for editing, and the user guide says I need the [Shapefile Editor] plug-in, but I can't seem to find it anywhere for download from your website. Am I missing something, or is this feature restricted to a licensed/pay version of the software?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Scott

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your kind words. Our main goal is to create an user-friendly application.
We have only 1 version and it is free and it stays free.

The SF Editor is part of the core installer. Did you download the latest version from GitHub: https://github.com/MapWindow/MapWindow5/releases
I recently created a video about the use of the SF editor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qZo033zD18

Let me know if you have more questions.

Paul
